Just give him to us Jeff!
Overwatch has wrapped up another event, and started Season 5 of Competitive play, so whats next? According to a user named Bax42 over on Blizzards official Overwatch forum, Doomfist is coming… Bax42 found this teaser of information while looking into the crash logs of his game, after experiencing issues while on the PTR (Public Test Region). His digging uncovered a name that is becoming infamous in the Overwatch community.
Overwatch – 188.8.131.52 Doomfist / Summer Games: Assertion failed: 0x454C339D “0x811C9DC5”
For those who may not be in the know, the current build of Overwatch is version 184.108.40.206.37636, and so we can gather that coming very soon will be a patch which brings us to version 220.127.116.11. If this particular line of text is to be believed, then when the new patch comes out, we will get a new version of the Summer Games event, as well as the reveal of Doomfist as a playable character. In an AMA on Reddit, Jeff Kaplan mentions his interest in bringing back various events, so this may be a clue as well, but what about that mention of Doomfist? The community has been adamant in their desire to have Doomfist, and specifically to have Terry Crews voice him, but is this small bit of information hidden in an error report enough proof? Only time will tell, until then, you can tell us your thoughts on the matter in the comments below, or on Facebook!
